Coach Tyrone Wright Sr. is ultimately a believer and follower of Jesus Christ. He is a husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, godfather, and so much more to so many people. He was born in Brady, Texas and moved to California at a young age. He is a high school graduate of Seaside High School Class of 1966. He was a great athlete in high school and he became a part of the Harlem Globetrotters for a period of time. He attended Sacramento State until his mother became terminally ill. He then began coaching at the age of 18 and volunteering to coach baseball, basketball and football for many non-profit organizations. His relationship not only grew with the players but with their parents as well. He has coached three generations of families on the Monterey Peninsula.
Coach Tyrone Wright Sr. Fund is a non-profit organization that provides high school students with scholarship opportunities for college.
